December 01*: ```Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from their possession.

A Police party of Police Post Mirgund headed by IC PP Mirgund at a checkpoint established at Mirgund Pattan, intercepted a vehicle (truck) bearing registration number JK02BT-8863 with two persons on board. They have been identified as Mohinder Singh son of Ram Saran & Mohinder Kumar son of Charan Das, both residents of Satwari Jammu. During search, 5.97 Kgs of Poppy Straw was recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station. The vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pattan and investigation has been initiated.

People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law.```
