Udhampur Police team from Police Station Chenani led by its SHO while performing vehicle checking at Motorshed naka point stopped one vehicle (truck) bearing registration number PB22K-8258 for checking purpose. During checking of said vehicle, 20 kg of poppy straw like substance was recovered from the possession of the driver of the vehicle namely Gurmej Singh S/O Baba Singh and his associate Palwinder Singh S/O Darshan Singh both resident of Amritsar have been arrested on spot.

On this, a case under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered in P/S Chenani and further investigation was set into probe.
