September 01: Police have booked 03 notorious drug peddlers under PIT NDPS Act in Awantipora after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority

The three notorious drug peddlers identified as Rafiq Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Aziz Sheikh resident of Sheikh Mohalla Machama Tral, Abdul Gani Mir@Gani Kak son of Abli Mir resident of Frestabal Pampore and Jamsheed Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar resident of Meej Pampore have been booked under PIT NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority & subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu.

It is pertinent to mention here that many cases are registered against these drug peddlers and were involved in promoting drug trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Pampore, Tral and other areas of Police District .

Consistent actions of Police against the criminals should reassure the community members that police is making all efforts to eradicate social evils and making all efforts to keep our society free from drug abuse.
