January 10: Continuing its drive against the menace of drugs and its propagators, Police in Awantipora arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

A police party of Police Station Pampore at a checkpoint established at Frestabal Pampore intercepted a suspicious person identified as Suhail Ahmad Ganie son of Late Ab Rashid Ganie resident of Pantha Chowk A/P Frestabal Pampore. During search, 48 grams of charas like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and a Case FIR No. 6/2025 under relevant section of NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Pampore.
