Rajouri, July 04: Tightening noose against illegal sale of liquor, police in Rajouri district has arrested a shopkeeper alongwith consignment of liquor.
Police said that while a team of police post Chingus led by Incharge Police Post was on routine patrolling duties in Doongi, Keri area, an information was received to the effect that a person namely Kishore Kumar @Koshal Kumar son of Sat Paul resident of Sasalkote was selling illegal liquor in his shop.
On this the police patrol party conducted search in the suspected shop belonging to Kamal Kishore and found liquor five bottles (each 750 ML) and liquor thirty bottles (each 250 ml) from his possession.
On this the accused person has been taken into custody by Police party. The recovered liquor has been seized and cognizance has been taken.

Cracking down heavily on Narcotics smuggling under *Operation Sanjeevani* Jammu and Kashmir police in District Ramban foiled a Narcotics smuggling bid in Chanderkote area and arrested two persons with Herione like substance.
A police party of Police Station Chanderkote led by SHO PS Chanderkote Insp. Jatinder Singh Rakwal while conducting routine vehicle checking at Kunfer bypass intercepted one alto car bearing registration number JK13D-2655 coming from Jammu Side towards Kashmir valley.
On questioning the driver and one other occupant sitting in the car disclosed their identity as Mehran Malik S/O Farooq Ahmed Malik R/O Drangbal Tehsil Pampore District Pulwama and Aqib Ganie S/O Mohd. Shafi R/O Pantha Chowk Srinagar Tehsil and District Srinagar.
During process of checking Heroine like substance approximately 10.75 grams was recovered from the dash board of said car. In this matter
a Case FIR No. 101/2024 U/S 8/21/29 NDPS registered at PS Chanderkote.
The accused persons have been arrested on the spot and contraband alongwith vehicle seized, investigation of the case going on to prove backward and forward linkages.
