A Police team from Police Station Chenani led by its SHO Insp. Pushpinder Singh while performing routine vehicle checking at Naka Point Chenani, recovered 29 Kg Poppy straw like substance from a vehicle (truck loaded with Plum) bearing Registeration No JK01AQ 1331. Two narco smugglers (driver and co-driver of the said vehicle) got arrested.

Both the arrested persons (driver and co-driver) were identified as Rajinder Singh S/O Gulla Singh R/O Dualta Ghati, Kathua and Kuldeep Chand S/O Sansar Chand R/O Panchote, Kud Tehsil Chenani, vehicle and contraband also got seized.

In this connection, A case FIR No. 120/2024 under sections 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Stdation Chenani and further investigation of the case has been taken up.
