Jammu Police arrests Drug Peddler with 10 Kg Poppy Straw in Sidhra Area

Jammu, December 25: Continuing its rigorous campaign against drug peddling under Operation *Sanjeevani,* the Jammu Police achieved a major success on December 24, 2024. A police team from Police Post Sidhra, while conducting routine naka checking at Sidhra Bridge, intercepted a tanker (Registration No. JK02AN/7702) coming from Nagrota towards Narwal.

The driver of the tanker attempted to evade the naka but was apprehended. The accused has been identified as *Kamaljeet Singh, son of Surjeet Singh, resident of Gole Gujral Ranjitpura, Jammu.* Upon checking the vehicle, the police recovered *10 kilograms of poppy straw (bhukki)* from his possession.

In connection with the recovery, an FIR (No. 332/2024) under Sections 8/15/25 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota. The tanker has also been seized as part of the investigation.

The arrest marks a significant step in Jammu Police’s ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in the region. The proactive action has been widely appreciated by the general public for contributing to the safety and well-being of the community.
